On Sunday, October 25, 2015, individuals from all over the Valley will participate in the fifth annual Busting Butts to Save Breasts (5k and bootcamp).  Registration will be at 7:30am with the 1st wave of the race beginning at 8:30 at Scott’s Training Systems located at 6100 W. Gila Springs Place, suite 23 in Chandler, AZ 85226.   This year we are going to have the individuals competing in the run/walk only start first, then start a second round with those looking to compete in the obstacles.

The event’s goal is to bring awareness on the importance of living a healthy lifestyle to help prevent cancer and recover if one has cancer.  Scott Keppel owner of Scott’s Training Systems along with a group of his friends and co-workers created the event after finding out Scott’s Wife at the age of 41 had breast cancer.  Scott’s wife Melissa, who is a healthy woman found a lump on breast July 4, 2011 and while a number of doctors told her not to worry Melissa felt there was more to the lump and after having surgery doctors determined indeed she had cancer.  In 2013, Melissa was diagnosed with breast cancer for a second time, leading her to have a double mastectomy.  Because of this, Scott along with those close to his family want to help others realize just being healthy may not be enough.  Learning to cope with stress, exercise regularly, eating certain foods and not eating others and regular self exams can help one prevent cancer.

We invite you to consider sponsorship of the 5th annual Busting Butts to Save Boobs 5k and bootcamp.  Our first run had approximately 60 participants and raised closed to $3000.  Our 2nd run had close to 150 participants and raised over $7,000.  The past two years we have been able to give over $10,000 each year with us having over 250 people supporting us last year.  Our goal this year is to raise over $15,000! Your sponsorship will be seen by over 250 walkers, bootcampers, spectators, volunteers as well as STS’s thousands of social media followers.  In addition I am finishing an E-Book on how to eat and train post breast cancer which will acknowledge both the Busting Butts Event and Website, driving more traffic to both.
